Write Start for Kids is a Cincinnati early childhood program founded in 2018 by Amy Kelly, an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience. Amy wanted to make a difference in the lives of kids by applying her professional experience as an OT through the modality of handwriting.
Handwriting remains a critical skill in early childhood education. A strong foundation of handwriting skills can help enable children to become more successful readers, writers, thinkers, and communicators.
This curriculum helps children develop writing skills through explicit, multi-sensory, play-based instruction. Children move, touch, feel, and manipulate real objects as they learn habits and skills essential for writing. Research supports multi-sensory early childhood education as an effective means to address diverse learning styles.
